"I Aint Lost Just Wandering Round My Hometown"...

I know Adele wrote Hometown Glory about her hometown London, (where I currently reside), but it seemed very fitting for this post about my hometown, Manchester.
Went up for the Easter weekend and thought i'd share some of my favourite spots with you, most of them are in The Northern Quarter...

The Manchester Eye. Hmmm...

My namesake restaurant ;) Yes I know it's a chain but the Manchester one is the 1st I ever ate in!!

The Printworks, we went to see Arthur in the Odeon- I don't recommend it lol

Round my hometown... oohhh the people i've met...

Yours truly, looking very seasidey i'm sure you'll agree...

The joy of being in Manchester just isn't containable...

My lil sis. Hahaha, this pic doesn't do her justice but I had to include one <3

Bread & Butter, Tibb St- my fave cafe!!... Though I was a little disappointed with this iced coffee- which was literally a cold coffee with a few ice cubes in it :S

Retro Rehab & Re Wear (Oldham St), two of my favourite vintage shops!! Wish they'd been open...

Affleck's Palace- so many floors, so little time. If you visit Manchester and you like shopping Affleck's is a must. Loads of independent stalls, you can get literally anything there <3

And the story ends with Junk. A little pricey IMO but they sell some great stuff, the layout of the shop is amazing- the changing room is a recycled wardrobe! And they support up and coming designers too.

Well hopefully i'll take much better pics next time i'm up, but in the meantime- VISIT MANCHESTER!!!! Ha

They Told Me This Is A Free Country... But Now It Feels Like A Chicken Factory...

I'm the chicken factory!!... People have been asking me if I want to do things (bits of modelling, attending networking events etc) and I always say no... Problem is i'm so ridiculously shy I don't even let my own friends take pictures of me!!...

Any ideas of how I can start to overcome nerves, shyness, embarrassment would be greatly appreciated?!?!
Yep, definitely time to change... My blog design too- it's such an eyesore! lol

Anyway, i'll post some pics from my Manchester visit tomorrow :)

Hope everyone is well.

My Lines Are Down You Can't Call Me, As I Float Around In Space Odyssee...

It's all about the hat today!!!! I found this great '80s velvet number when I was out with my mum... Came across it in Oxfam, cost like £3.50!! Also here are my favourite tights, bought for me by my bestie!!

I decided to include some motion pics, just cos I quite liked em. The first one happened unintentionally, but I liked the effect so I started SHAKING LIKE A SCHIZO (-Janelle Monae) and here is the result...

Off to Manchester tomorrow. You didn't really need to know that, ha!

Really appreciate that people have been following, looking and commenting on, this lil blog of mine- Thank you :)

This frock is from one of my favourite shops in Manchester called Retro Rehab on Oldham St. Quite a lot of my clothes are from there and I recommend a visit if you're ever in town, I have a nosy every time I go up.
 Hope you like it...

Showing Them What Laugher's All About... Where Did All The Wine Go Every Night It's Gone...

I bought this 1950s headpiece from one of my favourite shops some time last year I think. It's actually called The Shop and is just off Brick Lane (London).
I kinda laughed at myself when I uploaded these pics cos it reminded me of Zoolander... The whole blue ice, or whatever it was called thing i.e. all the poses are the same.
Well there might not be much variation but I quite like these photos so here they are...

Panic On The Streets Of A Material Girl...

Daydreaming today about the clothing i'd buy for the Summer if I actually had any money... The 1980s is a style people often imitate but hardly ever seem to get right- Usually ends up looking like you're going to a dodgy fancy dress party.

My main references would be Madonna in 'Desperately Seeking Susan' and Morrissey in those early days of The Smiths. So bloody brilliant!!...

Lots of layering, mixed up textures, great accessories and bold shapes.

Blazers, geek glasses, big shirts, loose cardigans, big hair...

Ahhh, this vision of mine might actually motivate me to start applying for jobs... After all you can't live in London AND buy clothes off the back of a student loan :(
For now though i'll just see what I can stick together in my current, tired-ass wardrobe.
